STRUTHERS

A one-car accident Friday night on East Midlothian Boulevard has left a man in critical condition in St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Struthers police said a man in a 2006 Chevy pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed – estimated at 80 miles per hour – when it went through an intersection at Fifth Street and Midlothian Boulevard and into a junkyard at 2800 E. Midlothian Blvd.

The vehicle went through a fence and struck six parked vehicles.

The man driving had to be extracted with mechanical devices, police said.

They added that the driver had bumped into another vehicle before taking off at a high rate of speed when the driver whom he bumped tried to get his license information.
