Five people arrested on felony drug charges during traffic stops were arraigned Friday in municipal court.
Four of them were arrested Thursday by city police, and the fifth person was arrested early Thursday by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Robert Lee, 18, of Elm Street, was given a bond of 10 percent of $5,000 by Judge Elizabeth Kobly after he was arraigned on a charge of possession of cocaine. Lee was arrested about 11:50 a.m. at Elm Street and Bissell Avenue on the North Side after reports said he was pulled over for running a stop sign.
Reports said Lee told police he had drugs in his coat pocket, and officers found suspected crack cocaine when they searched him.
About 3:50 p.m., Anthony Bonner, 36, of Millet Avenue, was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drugs after officers found five painkillers in the back of his car and three rocks of suspected crack cocaine. Bonner was pulled over at Albert Street and McGuffey Road on the East Side, and reports said he was acting like he was trying to hide something, so he was taken out of his car and searched. The drugs were found in the back of the car, reports said. Bond was set at $7,500.
Robert Petrovich, 45, of North Bon Air Avenue, was arrested about 4:40 p.m. in the first block of North Lakeview Avenue on the West Side after reports said police found a bag of crack cocaine and a crack pipe at his feet. He was a passenger in a car that was pulled over for an improper turn. Reports said the driver, Lacey Livermore, appeared very nervous when speaking to police, and she was asked to step out of the car. Reports said police found a bag of heroin in her pocket.
Petrovich was given a bond of $5,000 on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges against Livermore were filed in municipal court, according to court records, but she has yet to be booked into the jail.
About 5:30 p.m., Steven Moses, 59, of Brookline Avenue, was arrested at Hazelwood and Alma avenues on the West Side after he was pulled over for failure to yield, and police found a bag of suspected heroin in the back of his car. Reports said his car smelled heavily of marijuana, and when he was searched, reports said a bag of marijuana was found on him after police saw him try to hide something in his jacket. His bond was set at $5,000.
Bond was set at $25,000 for Antwane Peeples, 26, of Elliot Lane, on a first-degree felony charge of possession of cocaine. Peeples was pulled over about 2:30 a.m. on South Avenue on the South Side by a trooper with the Canfield Post of the state patrol after he spotted a Jeep that Peeples was driving going left of center.
Reports said the Jeep smelled heavily of marijuana despite a large number of air fresheners, and Peeples did as well. When Peeples was searched, troopers found a bag of suspected cocaine in his pocket that later measured at 29 grams, enough to make the charge a first-degree felony.
