GIRLS TENNIS
Canfield had two doubles teams qualify for the Division I district tournament at Springside Racquet & Fitness Club in Akron.
But both teams lost in three sets in the first round on Thursday. Magnificat’s Olivia Rondini and Alexandra Vesikallio defeated Canfield’s Anya Kan and Kate Ross 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. And Westlake’s Demetria Jhaveri and Ashley Michelich won 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 over Canfield’s Sydney Cianciola and Cece Economus.
Canfield was the only local team to qualify in Division I. No local tennis players qualified individually.
