Police say woman lied about assault
BOARDMAN
Township police say a woman is receiving counseling after lying to police about an assault earlier this week, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.
According to a police report, the 25-year-old woman called police saying she had been stabbed six times with a pocket knife. When the officers arrived at the home on Milltrace Road, the woman told them she was taking out her trash when she saw a man going through her car. She said she confronted the man, who then stabbed her with a pocket knife from her car. She also told police she was pregnant.
Boardman police now say the woman admitted to them and hospital staff she stabbed herself. Officials say she was still in the hospital at press time Thursday.
At this point, no charges have been filed.

William Michael, 33, is charged with child endangering and domestic violence, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.
According to reports, Michael left bruises on his wife’s arm after he grabbed her while she was holding their 3-month-old baby, leaving a mark on the baby’s forehead.
The victim told police what started as a verbal argument turned into Michael punching the victim’s head. She reportedly tried to leave and call 911 but Michael took her phone and when she tried to yell for help he covered her mouth.
The argument eventually ended in Michael threatening to kill himself if she got anyone involved, as he left the residence, police said.
