Exclusive license

YOUNGSTOWN

Strangpresse, an extruder manufacturer located in Youngstown, has secured an exclusive license for technology that will significantly improve the speed and quality of printing in additive manufacturing.

The licensed inventions come from the Department of Energy Oak Ridge National Laboratory and can quickly extrude hundreds of pounds of polymer material, particularly attractive for large-scale systems.

Holiday hiring

JCPenney plans to hire 1,500 seasonal associates throughout Ohio for a variety of store positions. Available customer service and support positions include cashier, replenishment specialist, SEPHORA inside JCPenney beauty consultant and more. JCPenney offers seasonal associates a full associate discount up to 25 percent, as well as flexible holiday scheduling.

To fill the nearly 40,000 seasonal positions available at about 875 stores, JCPenney is hosting its first National Hiring Day from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. National Hiring Day events will take place in each of its locations across the country with management having in-person interviews and making employment offers to candidates on the spot. All skill levels are welcome, and individuals are encouraged to apply online at jcpcareers.com or in-store at one of the applicant kiosks before attending the event.

Kent State University at Trumbull is hosting a career fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.

More than 40 employers will be at the event looking for prospective employees, so business attire and a supply of resumes are suggested. The fair will be in the classroom/administration building, Kent State Trumbull, 4314 Mahoning Ave. NW.

Also Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., job seekers who may want to brush up on skills to increase the chance of landing a job are invited to attend “Resume and Interview Preparation.”

The event is free and open to the public. It is also mobility and hearing accessible.

Fight against cancer

DETROIT

For the seventh consecutive year, Chevrolet and General Motors employees, dealers and customers are joining in the fight against breast cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks.

Chevrolet and participating dealers across the U.S. also support the program through event sponsorships, team participation, customer engagement and other activities.

The money raised helps fund ACS efforts in breast- cancer research, education for health care professionals, screening guidelines and promotion for early detection. Since 2011, Chevrolet has helped the society raise more than $7.7 million.
