Boys soccer defeats South Range
The Austintown Fitch boys soccer team won 5-2 on Oct. 3 against an injury plagued South Range team. South Range was missing their leading scorer, Brandon Youngs (18 goals, 10 assists), and Canaan Johnson (two goals, nine assists). It was the Raiders scoring first seven minutes in when Charlie Staffield lofted a header just under the bar. Fitch rattled off three in a row when Blake Baker scored off a great pass from Dom Foley, Foley scored a rebound goal after a great run and shot by CJ Sobien, and Baker tallied his second goal off a Mitch Desiato freekick. Just before the half South Range brought it to within one goal when Luke McConnell scored off of a Mitch McConnell pass. Fitch tacked on another two goals in the second half by Sobien and Baker to give the Falcons the win.
