Fall lecture series to begin Thursday

CANFIELD

The Canfield Historical Society’s annual Fall Lecture Series will begin at 7 p.m. today with a lecture by Bill Lawson titled “Preserving History” at the Canfield Historical Society at the Bond House, 44 West Main Street.

Lawson, the executive director of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society since 1991, will share anecdotes and historical interpretations of images from the society’s archives and its collection. The lecture will also offer advice on methods of preserving historical items and family history.

Those attending are encouraged to bring any photos or documents relating to Canfield’s history to be scanned and added to the society’s collection. No pre-registration is necessary for the free lecture.
