Bluecoats collecting winter clothing

The Youngstown Bluecoats will be collecting gently-used, cold weather outer-wear clothing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hubbard Municipal Building, 220 W. Liberty St.

The Youngstown Bluecoats, whose motto is “In America Nobody Should Freeze to Death,” is a nonprofit organization which is a spin-off of the Sub Zero Mission that distributes warming items to the homeless and other people in need within the local area. This is the 4th year of operation for the group.

Items that are needed for distribution include new or used sleeping bags, coats and hoodies, hats, warm winter gloves, XL gym bags, scarves, tents, warm boots and blankets (not comforters.) Donated socks and hand/foot warmers must be new. All donations are tax deductible.
