Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will meet Tuesday at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St. in Canfield. Networking will begin at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30. Cindy Best of Howard Hanna Real Estate will speak about how she got started in the business and the current trends in the real-estate world. The menu will include Southern-baked chicken, Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, salad, gelatin, applesauce and apple cake. The cost is $18.

Boardman Lions Club will host its first Celebrity Bartender fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 16 at Carmella’s Cafe, 805 E. Western Reserve Road, Suite 8. Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini will be the celebrity bartender. All tips raised will be used in the Boardman community.

The GFWC/Ohio Boardman Poland Junior Women's League is hosting its second Quarter Auction on Oct. 21 at Saint Nicholas Social Hall, 764 Fifth Street, Struthers. Niles Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Westenfield Room. Plans are being made for the 2018 calendar, which will feature historical pictures of Niles and will be sold for $10. Calendars may be reserved by calling 330-652-8329.
Springfield Historical Society will host its last presentation of the year at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the meeting house at 14118 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, Petersburg. Clyde Foor and company will be available to give general information of antiques or unusual items that attendees bring to have appraised like a mini “Antiques Road Show.” There is no cost to attend.

NAMI Mahoning Valley offers its Peer to Peer Class from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 23 at Northside Hospital, 500 Gypsy Lane, Medical Office Building A, Classroom A. It is an eight week educational program open to adults diagnosed with mental illness. There will be lectures, discussions, exercises and stress management techniques taught.
