Mahoning Valley College Access Program will host its first October Harvest progressive dinner fundraiser Saturday. This event features staggered start times from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Preferred times will be selected when purchasing tickets.
In a traditional progressive dinner party, each course is eaten at the home of a different host, and guests travel to each house during the same evening. In Warren, guests will check-in and enjoy a cocktail hour, appetizers, dinner, dessert and coffee in and around Courthouse Square.
“We wanted to create an event that was different than a gala or a golf outing. With so many new venues in Warren, a progressive dinner seemed like a cool idea. We’re hoping to make it an annual event,” said Lita Wills, MVCAP executive director.
The progressive dinner includes the following businesses: Tech Belt Energy Innovation Center; Trumbull Art Gallery; dinner at either the Speakeasy Lounge or the Saratoga Restaurant & Catering; and Nova Coffee Co.
Proceeds will support MVCAP programming in Warren and Youngstown schools. The program works with students to help clear obstacles when enrolling in college or training programs after high school. MVCAP also provides scholarships to graduating seniors.
The event is sponsored by Paige & Byrnes Insurance, PNC Bank Foundation, Huntington Bank, Harrington Hoppe & Mitchell, Hill Barth & King, Jack Gibson Construction, Rulli Brothers Market, National Fire & Water Repair, Franklin Pharmacy Inc. and WYSU.
Tickets are $55, and can be ordered online through Eventbrite or by calling 330-394-3358. More details are available at www.themvcap.org. and from Lita Wills, executive director, lmwills@themvcap.org, or 216-744-4787.
