Warren boy detained in juvenile lockup on two counts of bestiality

WARREN

A boy, 17, accused of engaging in sexual conduct twice with the family dog, is charged with two counts of bestiality but won’t be charged with an offense alleging an injury to the dog.

Detective Nick Carney of the Warren Police Department said Tuesday the boy is being detained at the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center on the two bestiality charges.

Late last week, he was temporarily held in the juvenile lockup on a probation violation relating to an earlier offense.

The boy, who split his time between his home on Homewood Avenue Southeast and Trumbull County Children Services, committed the same offense against the same dog last fall, Carney said.

His new offense was a violation of his probation on the earlier offense.

If convicted on the bestiality charges, he would be the second person convicted under Warren’s new bestiality ordinance, which was approved by Warren City Council last summer.

Amber Finney, 33, of Ward Avenue Northwest, was convicted of bestiality this May after the police department received reports indicating that Finney could be seen on the Internet having sex with a dog.

She was ordered to serve 60 days in the county jail.
