Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley has opened its funding process to any nonprofit organization delivering education and emergency services in Mahoning County and in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard in Trumbull County.
Nonprofit organizations that wish to apply for funding through United Way should visit ymvunitedway.org for planning documents that outline the focus areas and strategies.
Any agencies with programs not currently receiving funding who wish to apply must submit a Letter of Intent or LOI. Details for the LOI can be found on the United Way website. Current programs funded by the United Way are not required to submit an LOI.
The LOI must be submitted no later than Nov. 3 and addressed to Trina Benson, community impact director, via email: tbenson@ymvunitedway.org.
The LOI must include an organization description, a statement of need, a proposed program and other funding sources.
For all accepted new agencies and current partner agencies, grant applications will be open via an online system Nov. 20 and will close Jan. 19.
Applications will not be accepted after the deadline.
Anyone interested in receiving information on the requirements and process may contact Benson at the United Way office at 330-746-8494.
