Canfield AARP 3104 will meet at the Canfield Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. Monday. Blood pressure readings will be available from noon to 12:45 p.m. Entertainment will be presented by Chords of Appeals, a women’s barbershop quartet who perform at the Mahoning Scrappers home openers, area churches and other venues. A Christmas Mystery trip will be Nov. 28. Included will be a tour, a dinner and a show. Freetimers Monthly Breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Das Dutch Haus, 14895 South Avenue Extension, Columbiana. All Youngstown State University retirees are invited to come, eat and socialize.
Lowellville Senior Citizens will meet for its monthly meeting at noon Friday at Lowellville City Hall conference room. Ernie Ciarniello will preside. Niles SCOPE Senior Center will host a Fall Foliage bus trip to Middlefied on Oct. 26. Bus leaves at 9 a.m. from the center, 14 E. State St., and will return about 5 p.m. Trip includes two meals; an Amish tea party with a sandwich and an Amish wedding dinner in an Amish home. Cost is $75 person. The bus will depart for the Ohio Playhouse Theater for “A Christmas Carol.” Lunch at Massimo da Milano, returning about 5 p.m.
PERI, Mahoning County 18 will meet at noon Tuesday at the Avion Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Boardman. Flu shots will be given by Debbie Moss, a nurse from the Mahoning County Board of Health, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Bring insurance cards. Guest speaker will be a representative from Shepherd of the Valley health care facility. Lunch includes pot roast with vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, salad, bread and butter, coffee, tea, soft drinks and pumpkin pie. There will be a money raffle. Cost is $13 for members, associate members and guests, payable at the door. S.O.A.R. 27-2 and 27-6, Steelworkers Retirees Local 1330 and 1331, will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Niles-Canfield Road. Refreshments will be served. New members are welcome. Amy Romano of R. Kashmiry & Associates will be the guest speaker. She will go over any medicare changes for next year and answer questions.
TMH Retirees Club will have a luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 9 at the Buena Vista Cafe in Warren. The program will be a presentation regarding the local opioid crisis. Trumbull Retired Teachers Association will meet at noon Oct. 10 at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre, 123 N. Main St., Niles. State Sen. Joe Schiavone will be the guest speaker. The scholarship committee will host a bake sale, and members are asked to donate baked goods and arrive early. Members can also purchase table arrangements by Mary Fuller with profits donated to Trumbull Mobile Meals.
