The Volunteers of the Trumbull County Pound and Community will launch its fundraiser, “Pumpkins for Pups,” from Oct. 10-31 at the pound, 7501 Anderson Ave., off state Route 46.

Buy a pumpkin to help a pup – all proceeds go toward the veterinary services and rescue of pound pups and needy pets in Trumbull County. The hours are Mondays through Fridays, 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.; and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Church’s 150th year

GIRARD

First Christian Church of Girard is celebrating its 150th anniversary Oct. 28 at 140 E. Broadway Ave. The celebration starts at 4 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children age 6 to 12. Children under 5 are admitted free. Tickets must be purchased before the event.

Tickets include a dinner consisting of chicken francaise, potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls, beverage and dessert. The dinner begins at 5 p.m.

Flower shop open

CANFIELD

The student-run flower shop at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center is open through October. A variety of fall silk floral arrangements and wreaths will be available. Fall mums also will be sold and can be dressed for a gift or planted outside.

The shop will be decorated and open to the public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Extended hours are available upon request.

Fresh arrangements for any occasion can be made to order with a few days’ notice. Orders also are being taken for homecoming corsages. For information, call 330-729-4000, ext. 1672 or ext. 1671.

Community Nights

CAMPBELL

Campbell Elementary/Middle School students in grades K-7, along with their families, are invited to attend four Community Nights on Thursdays throughout the school year.

Each Community Night features a different theme and offers a variety of food, fun and academic activities for students and parents.

The first Community Night, which is Game Night, will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 12. On Dec. 7, a Winter Festival Community Night also will take place from 6 to 8 p.m.

After the New Year, there will be two more Community Nights on March 15 (March Madness) and May 17 (Cultural Night). Each event is free.
