Brianna Stackpole and Rebekah Thomas scored both goals for Poland (7-3-2). Teegan Graff had the assist and keeper Rachel Pugh made 10 saves for the Bulldogs. For Champion, Emma Gumont made 17 saves.

ORWELL

Alyssa Clason scored four goals for Grand Valley. Two assists were made by Ella Crum and Emily D’Amico and Lily Portman each had one. For Wickliffe keeper Morgan Gabriel made five saves and Grand Valley’s Izza Scarberry made five saves.

CANFIELD

Alana Petracci and Hannah Stein scored goals for the Cardinals in a draw with the Vikings. Petracci and Macey Malinky had assists for Canfield and Cardinals goalie Olivia VaDevender had eight saves. Lesley Keisling and Jillian Bell had goals for Hoover and Madison Smith had eight saves. JV: Canfield, 2-0.

For Springfield, Lyndsey Smith had 13 kills and eight blocks. Morgan Santangelo had 11 points and 18 passes and Kaelen Yemma had 28 assists, 11 points and two aces for the Tigers. Stats for Mooney were not provided.

For Howland, Faith Grant had 21 kills and seven aces, Julia Gray had 18 digs and Danni Harigan had 16 points. Natalie Pallone led the Indians with 13 kills, eight points, two aces and one block. Lexi Cochran had 18 digs and Kacie Spina had six kills and one block for Girard.

Cardinal Mooney’s Autumn DeSantis hand 11 kills and Maria Pelini had 12 assists. Marisa McDonough had three kills and one block for the Clippers. Teammate Alexis Cross had 12 digs and one kill.

TENNIS

Boardman and Struthers high schools will be the sites for the Division II sectional tournament that begins Monday at 8:15 a.m. (Boardman, singles) and 8:45 a.m. (Struthers, doubles). Semifinals will be played on Wednesday after school. Finals will be Thursday after school at Boardman. Rain will move play to Boardman Tennis Center. The seeded single players are: Marisa Ricciardi, Poland; Anna Garvin, Lakeview; Vy Hoang, Ursuline; and Lexie Tsudis, Ursuline. Doubles seeds are Kaytlin Marlatt-Lauren Kraker, Warren JFK; Isabella Francisco-Hannah Matthews, Cardinal Mooney; Caitlin Condoleon-Sophia Zamarelli, Warren JFK; Julia Giamboli-Jessie DiDomenico, Cardinal Mooney. The Division I tournament will be played in Canton at Weis Park (singles) and Stadium Park (doubles). Play begins Monday at 9 a.m. Quarterfinals will be played on Wednesday after school, with the finals scheduled Saturday at Weis Park. Nineteen schools are participating. The singles seeds are: Kasey Pukys, Massillon Perry; Mackenzie Cavalier, Green; Brooke Brocker, Canfield; and Molly Altman, Massillon Jackson. Doubles seeds are: Marie Zivick-Anne Zivick, Green; Sydney Cianciola-Cece Economus, Canfield; Hallie Hunt-Laurel Utterback, Hoover; and Emily Thomas-Megan Reese, Massillon Jackson.
