Area holes-in-one

Kathryn Watson aced the 90-yard No. 14 at Yankee Run Golf Course. She used an 8-iron for her second hole-in-one.

James Owens of Austintown aced the 105-yard No. 3 at Pine Lakes Golf Club. Owens used a pitching wedge. Witnesses were Jeff Riffle, Joe Campana and Len Schober. Owens is 76.

Gregory Palovich aced the 196-yard No. 5 at Walnut Run Golf Course on Sept. 19. Witnesses were Phil Adams Jr., Greg Palovich Sr. and Mike Lenno.

Dr. Larry Gessner aced the 189-yard No. 5 at Tippecanoe Country Club on Sept. 24. He used a 4-hybrid. Witnesses were Elaine Kinkela and Karla Edwards.

Dante Flak aced the 128-yard No. 6 at Kennsington Golf Club on Sept. 22. He used a pitching wedge. Evan Skripac witnessed the shot.

Colin Faloon aced the 170-yard No. 10 at Wooster Country Club in the Wooster General Cup on Sept. 17. It was the first hole-in-one for Faloon, who plays for the Ursuline golf team. He used an 8-iron. Witnesses were Ursuline coach Matt Morgan and Ashland coach Dave Chapman.

Bryan Kordupel aced the 165-yard No. 11 at Canterbury Golf Club in the Kiely Cup Invitational on Sept. 11. Kordupel, who plays for the Boardman High School golf team, used a pitching wedge. Witnesses were Nick Karlik and Cameron Frazier.
