Holiday events at historical society

NEW CASTLE, PA.

The Lawrence County Historical Society, 408 N. Jefferson St., will present an open house with Santa on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m., with tours of the decorated mansion, treat bags and photos with Santa for children and refreshments. Admission is free.

On Dec. 9, the annual Victorian Christmas party, Mistletoe Magic, will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. It will feature hors d’oeuvres, wine and craft beer, music by pianist Loren DiGiorgi and a sing-a-long in the parlor.

Rock On The Range rock festival will return to MAPFRE Stadium on May 18-20 with nearly 60 bands on three stages, led by Tool, Avenged Sevenfold and Alice In Chains. Also appearing will be Godsmack, A Perfect Circle, Stone Sour, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Stone Temple Pilots, Machine Gun Kelly, The Used, Bullet For My Valentine and Black Veil Brides.

Uriah Heep adds second concert

Uriah Heep has added a second show at Kent Stage, 175 E. Main St., on March 1. The hard-rock British band’s March 3 show is nearly sold out.

Tickets for the second show go on sale today at 10 a.m. at kentstage.org, or by phone at 877-987-6487. Prices are $60 and $40.

The band was co-founded in 1969 by guitarist Mick Box, who still leads the group. It broke out in 1972 with the release of the “Demons and Wizards” album, which included the hits “The Wizard,” “Sweet Lorraine” and “Easy Livin’.” Uriah Heep released its 25th studio album, “Totally Driven,” in late 2015.
