Reports said a man wanted in a shooting at a Walmart in Austintown had a 9 mm handgun in a vehicle he was driving that he was seen wielding in a recent rap video.
Terrance Craig, 26, was arrested by police about 3 p.m. Sunday after a short foot chase on the East Side. He faces a charge of felonious assault in Austintown in the shooting at the Walmart there on Oct. 30.
Reports said police caught Craig after a short foot chase on Plazaview Court after investigating gunfire on nearby Stewart Avenue.
Inside an SUV he was driving police found a loaded 9 mm handgun with an extended clip and several 9 mm shell casings in the back.
Reports said Craig was seen wielding the gun in a recent rap video he made. He was caught after officers on patrol heard gunfire on Stewart Avenue and saw Williams driving away. Reports said they recognized Williams as being wanted on a warrant from Austintown for felonious assault in the Walmart shooting.
Craig abandoned his SUV and was caught after the foot chase. He was arraigned Monday in municipal court on charges of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, being a felon in possession of a firearm and obstructing official business. Judge Robert Milich has set his bond at $64,000.
Williams has not been charged for the gunfire yet but he is under investigation for that, police said.
Police are also looking for suspects after a man was wounded in a drive by shooting Sunday evening in a South Side home.
Reports said the man has bullet wounds to his wrist and buttocks.
Police were called to the home about 7:30 p.m, where the victim told officers a car with five or six people inside drove by and someone inside fired several shots.
The victim is being treated at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
