Phantoms rally for third straight win

BLOOMINGTON, ILL.
The Youngstown Phantoms scored three times in Friday’s third period to capture their third straight victory.
Eric Esposito, Max Ellis and Tommy Parrottino scored late in the Phantoms’ 4-3 victory over the Central Illinois Flying Aces at Grossinger Motors Arena.
Parrottino’s game-winning goal was unassisted and came with 4:54 remaining in regulation.
Goaltender Wouter Peeters made 29 saves to earn his second straight victory.
Chase Gresock scored the only goal of the first period. Andrew Petrillo and Zach Metsa set up the Phantoms’ first goal.
The Flying Aces (7-7-0-1, 15 points) seized control in the second period with three goals. Griffin Lunn, Jakub Lacka and Charlie Raith scored for a 3-1 lead.
Esposito’s power-play goal four minutes into the third period was set up by Mike Regush and Matthew Barry.
With 5:12 remaining, Ellis tied the game on assists from Gianfranco Cassaro and Curtis Hall.
Parrottino’s goal came just 18 seconds later.
The Phantoms (8-5-2-1, 19 points) went 1-for-7 on the power play. Their penalty killers stopped the Flying Aces on all five attempts with the man-advantage.
