Penguins fall to Northern Colorado

Four players scored in double figures led by senior Cameron Morse’s 17 points, but the Youngstown State men’s basketball team dropped an 80-67 decision to Northern Colorado on Friday night at the Sanford Pentagon.

Sophomore Braun Hartfield scored 16 points for the Penguins (2-3) and junior Tyree Robinson posted his first career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebouonds.

Sophomore Jeremiah Ferguson added 10 points and three assists.

For the Bears (3-2), who shot 53.6 percent from the field, Jordan Davis scored a game-high 20 points while Andre Spight had 15.

Jalen Sanders posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds and Jonah Radebaugh added 11 points.

Northern Colorado pushed its 10-point halftime lead to 13, 52-39, just three-and-a-half minutes into the second half after a layup by Tanner Morgan at the 16:29 mark.

Today at 5 p.m., the Penguins take on Southern Miss.
