Mathews to honor 1988 girls title team

VIENNA

Mathews High School will honor its 1987-88 Division III state championship girls basketball team Saturday.

The Mustangs (27-0) were led by Dianne Rappach, Holly Bottar, Carrie Clute, Chris Fisher, Judy Santiago and Bobbi McClain.

Mathews, coached then by Dennis Holmes and assisted by Bob Terlecky, finished 27-0.

The current Mathews girls team will host Grand Valley on Saturday, with a JV game at 5:30 p.m.

The ceremony will take place at approximately 6:30, between the end of the JV game and the varsity tip-off.
