Christmas in the Square returns to downtown Warren on Dec. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Activities include a Christmas parade stepping off from City Hall at 5:30 p.m. This year’s parade marshal is Warren pediatrician Dr. John O. Vlad; master of ceremonies will be Pastor Todd Johnson of Second Baptist Church.

Highlights of the evening include: Letters to Santa; a Christmas Market and Reindeer Games for kids; Candy Cane Lane with the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library at Trumbull Family Fitness for families with children age 6 and under; cookie decorating with Game Changers; making ornaments to help decorate the Kinsman House; demonstrations, story time and refreshments at Sew Cute! Boutique; Nativity displays at the Upton House; Story Time with Mayor Franklin; photo booth and movies at the Wean Foundation; Horse-Drawn Christmas Wagon rides around the Square; vocal music, dance, karate and cheer performances; free family photos with Santa in the Gazebo; and free hot chocolate courtesy of the Salvation Army.

There will be designated warming stations, and the Warren Trolley will provide transportation to a number of event locations.

The Cookie Walk, which is for age 2 to 12, begins at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required by checking in at the information booth set up in the center of Courthouse Square. Expect Olaf, The Grinch and Spiderman sightings throughout the evening.

Christmas in the Square will conclude at 8 p.m. with the Tree Lighting Ceremony at the corner of West Market Street and North Park Avenue with Mayor Doug Franklin.
