A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:

GIRARD

Nov. 8

Assault: Police responded to a report of a fight in the 70 block of East Liberty Street, where a woman told them she had been punched in the face when she picked up her daughter at the residence.

Nov. 9

Menacing: A woman said her estranged husband has made unwanted contact that included a veiled threat while the accuser was at her sister’s Elruth Court home.

Nov. 10

Harassment: A West Liberty Street man said a former co-worker has made and sent about a month’s worth of unsolicited calls and text messages after she had been terminated from her job.

Theft: A LaSalle Drive man reported an acquaintance borrowed but has refused to return his $348 drill.

Menacing: A Forsythe Avenue woman alleged her former husband has been stalking the accuser and making her fear for her safety.

Nov. 11

Drugs: Officers responded to a report of a reckless driver on Church Hill Road before reportedly finding a man passed out and charging Jonathan R. Smith of Parish Avenue, Hubbard, with possession of drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments, as well as operating a vehicle impaired. Smith, 32, had a hypodermic syringe and a small folded piece of paper with suspected heroin residue, a report showed.

Domestic violence: Anthony Kornegay, 24, of Hazel Street, Girard, faced domestic-violence and resisting-arrest charges after his mother alleged he had tried to hit her with a TV, then threatened to kill the accuser. Kornegay also attempted to flee and struggled with officers, they alleged.

Menacing: A Washington Avenue woman reported her former boyfriend has called and threatened to show up uninvited at her home and place of employment.

Nov. 12

Summonses: Edward Long II, 34, and Andrew J. Ratliff, 50, both of Church Hill Road, Girard, were charged with disorderly conduct after authorities reported having responded to a brief fight between the two neighbors.

Recovered property: A set of keys was found at an apartment in the 20 block of Church Hill Road.

Criminal mischief: Someone placed pieces of black duct tape over a camera next to an automated teller machine at a U.S. Route 422 bank.

Nov. 13

Menacing: A Prospect Street man alleged his landlord had threatened him with bodily harm as part of an ongoing problem between them.

Nov. 14

Criminal mischief: An East Main Street woman noticed damage to her vehicle’s hood, driver’s side and taillight. Damage came to $500.

Identity fraud: A Navajo Trail man found out his personal information had been used to apply for a credit card, apparently in Vero Beach, Fla.

Theft: A North State Street man discovered three or four rolls of chain-link fencing, 20 to 30 fence poles and four sections of a gate had been stolen, for a $500 loss.

LIBERTY

Nov. 9

Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue handed Phillip B. Armour, 55, to township authorities. Armour, of Goleta Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant.

Assaults: A Roosevelt Drive woman alleged a Youngstown woman, 60, punched her head, pulled the accuser off a sofa and kicked her during a dispute about a debit card. The Youngstown woman alleged the Roosevelt Drive woman had removed two kitchen knives from a drawer, and that she tried to kick them out of the woman’s hand.

Criminal damaging: A car in the 1700 block of Wilson Avenue was found with a smashed front windshield. The damage estimate was $500.

Arrest: Police in the 100 block of Warner Road picked up Laci A. Livermore, 27, who was wanted on several Austintown warrants. Livermore, of Carlisle Avenue, Youngstown, also was charged with escape when, authorities alleged, she slipped out of one of her handcuffs during a custody transfer and led them on a foot chase.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered Touch of Class, 3028 Belmont Ave., by possibly crawling through a window before police discovered a second break-in at a neighboring business, from which multiple cellphones and two computers were taken.

Nov. 10

Criminal damaging: An employee with MetroPCS, 3233 Belmont Ave., reported a customer damaged a display phone and tossed cellphone cases off a wall after having become irate regarding upgrading the customer’s phone.

Nov. 11

Domestic violence: Michael W. Gas-away, 36, of Green Acres Drive, Liberty, was charged with domestic violence and being a convicted felon with a firearm after his girlfriend alleged an intoxicated Gasaway had clenched his fists in her face, causing the accuser to fear for her safety and that of her young child. He also had a loaded .22-caliber rifle in a bedroom, a report stated.

Felonious assault: Authorities responded to a disturbance on Keefer Road, then charged Todd M. Leskovic of Keefer, Girard, with felonious assault and domestic violence after his mother alleged Leskovic, 36, was intoxicated and had grabbed the steering wheel as she drove in an effort to force her off the road. He also struck the accuser multiple times in the head and face and pushed her to the ground before police found the victim, who complained of difficulty breathing and struggled to get up, a report showed.

Drugs: Officers issued a minor-misdemeanor citation to Alexander Ivy, 25, after having noticed a motorist with a flat tire in the 2900 block of Belmont Avenue and alleging Ivy, of Tyrell Street, Youngstown, had two suspected marijuana sticks in the glove compartment.

Criminal damaging: A Logan Way man reported the someone in a pickup truck destroyed his mailbox as well as a neighbor’s.

Nov. 12

Arrest: Officers responded to a report of a woman who was not wanted at a location in the 3800 block of Belmont Avenue before arresting Katherine A. Sakalosh, 34, of South Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on a warrant from that city.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 1100 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road through the front door, though police found no signs of forced entry. A 66-inch flat-screen TV and a Sony PlayStation 3 game system were removed, for an estimated $3,300 loss.

Nov. 13

Trespassing: While answering a shoplifting call at Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave., police charged Jimmy A. Williams, 31, of North Whitney Avenue, Youngstown, with criminal trespassing. Williams was in the store, despite having been warned not to return because of previous theft complaints, a report stated.

Nov. 14

Arrest: Authorities at the Mahoning County jail picked up Timothy D. Banks, 23, of High Street, Youngstown. He was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Recovered property: A purse and two wallets were found in a wooded area in the 5500 block of Engleton Drive.

Harassment: A Potter Circle woman said a Youngstown woman, 54, has been sending her such text messages.

Theft: A Cincinnati man discovered his wallet missing as he shopped at a Goldie Road big-box store.

Recovered property: A woman at a Belmont Avenue grocery store found a purse that belonged to a Farrell, Pa., woman.

HUBBARD

Nov. 8

Assault: A Hubbard woman told police her 12-year-old daughter had been struck several times while the girl was in the 700 block of West Liberty Street, though the victim had no visible injuries, a report said.

Nov. 9

Possible theft: A man reported a package containing medication was never delivered to his Princeton Avenue residence.

Nov. 11

Junk: While conducting a follow-up investigation in the 700 block of Triangle Drive, authorities reportedly found multiple junk vehicles as well as large amounts of trash throughout the property, though no charges had been filed at the time of the report.

Nov. 12

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop in the 500 block of West Liberty Street led to charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments against Mia P. Nadal, 19, of Wakefield Avenue, Youngstown. Numerous empty bindles commonly used to package small quantities of drugs for sale, as well as a syringe, were found in Nadal’s vehicle, authorities alleged.
