HIRED

The Peter Allen Inn & Event Center recently hired Aundrea Cika Heschmeyer as general manager. Heschmeyer is responsible for all of the day-to-day operations at the historic property.

Heschmeyer came to the inn before it opened in January 2016 and has been a guiding force behind creating its mission and direction as an elegant destination retreat in the bucolic farmlands of upper Trumbull County.

Previously, Heschmeyer was director of the Autism Society of the Mahoning Valley in Youngstown.

Her volunteer work is highlighted in her experience in building PolishYoungstown, the nonprofit of which she is still executive director. As executive director of this active nonprofit, she has developed, promoted and supported a wide variety of classes, workshops and events that have raised awareness of the culture throughout the region.

INSURANCE

L. Calvin Jones & Co. employees attended the Ohio Insurance Agents Convention in Columbus in October.

L. Calvin Jones President Jim Klingensmith and insurance producer Brian Battaglia attended the convention with the goal of learning the most up-to-date information and trends in the insurance industry this year.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The board of directors of Team NEO has appointed Peter W. Broer to the organization’s governing body. Broer is the president and CEO of Lumitex and joins a group of regional business leaders dedicated to advancing Northeast Ohio’s economy.

Team NEO is an economic development organization focused on creating jobs for Northeast Ohio’s residents.

HOME BUILDING

Paul Schumacher, founder of Schumacher Homes in Canton, is the 2017 recipient of the prestigious George S. Dively Entrepreneurship honor.

The award was presented by Harvard Business School Club of Northeast Ohio. It is granted annually to a Northeast Ohio person or company demonstrating substantial growth in size and profitability over the previous five years and showing leadership in its industry.

Schumacher Homes has operations in 32 markets in 14 states across the country, and builds homes in the Mahoning Valley and surrounding areas. The company has built more than 14,000 homes since its founding and is a National Housing Quality award winner and recipient of the National Gold Winning Home of the Year.
