Code Youngstown schedules event

YOUNGSTOWN

A Code Youngstown Winter 2017 Meetup hosted by Drund, the Oak Hill Collaborative, Code Youngstown, Oak Hill Makerspace, Oak Hill Robotics Makerspace and the Youngstown Business Incubator will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Oak Hill Collaborative, 507 Oak Hill Ave.

Every six months, Code Youngstown has a social meet-up. These events are to meet and network with other developers and those involved the software and startup industries in Youngstown. Food and drink will be provided.

MVYP plans holiday event at the DeYor

The Mahoning Valley Young Professionals will have a Holiday Gala at the DeYor Performing Arts Center downtown from 6 to 11 p.m. Dec. 9.

The event will feature a red-carpet experience, photo booth, cigar bar, jewelry bar, auction, 50/50 raffle and dancing. The event is open to the public and tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite at https://mvypholidaygala.eventbrite.com.

Tickets are $35 each or $60 for two.

Holiday flea market

The indoor Youngstown Holiday Flea will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 1 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 2 at the DeYor Performing Arts Center, 260 W. Federal St.

Chamber council to salute officials

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Government Affairs Council will have a salute to elected officials wine tasting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Avalon Inn, 9519 E. Market St.

Join nearly 200 government officials and business leaders at this annual event, expected to grow this year because of an unusual election cycle.

Former Ohio Senate president and current state auditor candidate Keith Faber said he will attend, as well as gubernatorial candidate and current Secretary of State Jon Husted and House Majority Floor Leader Dorothy Pelanda of Marysville.

Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce invites residents and business owners to attend a Business Showcase on Nov. 29 at the Bastion Group, 103 Columbiana Plaza.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with refreshments.
