“Night of Too Many Stars” (8 p.m., HBO): Jon Stewart returns to television for Night of Too Many Stars, a live show presented from The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. The special will feature stand-up performances, sketches and short films, all part of the effort to raise money and awareness for autism programs.

“Saturday Night Live” (11:29 p.m., NBC): Chance the Rapper hosts, and Eminem performs.
