Airport forum

VIENNA

The Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, 1453 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, will have a public forum for a new airline service with Southern Airways Express from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Dec. 5.

The Memphis-based company uses 22 nine-passenger Cessna Caravans and employs 90 pilots to fly 30 times per day into Baltimore-Washington International Airport in Baltimore.

Valley housing sales

YOUNGSTOWN

Housing sales in Mahoning County increased 2.2 percent year-over-year in October, according to the Youngstown/Columbiana County Association of Realtors. Pending sales in the county were up 34.1 percent. New listings were up 13.8 percent and inventory of homes for sale dropped 20.4 percent.

In Columbiana County, closed sales increased 44.3 percent; pending sales were up 81.3 percent; new listings declined 5.4 percent; and inventory of homes for sale declined 28.3 percent.

In Trumbull County, sales decreased 4.6 percent; pending sales increased 25.3 percent; new listings decreased 4 percent; and inventory of homes for sale decreased 29.1 percent, according to Warren Area Board of Realtors.

Keystone pipeline leaks 210K gallons of oil in SD

AMHERST, S.D.

TransCanada Corp.’s Keystone pipeline leaked an estimated 210,000 gallons of oil onto agricultural land in northeastern South Dakota, the company and state regulators said Thursday, but state officials don’t believe the leak polluted any surface water bodies or drinking water systems.

Crews shut down the pipeline Thursday and activated emergency response procedures, TransCanada said. The cause was being investigated.
