Staff report
WARREN
The Sutliff Museum will have its annual fall open house Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. to celebrate Thanksgiving.
The public is invited to visit the museum and enjoy apple cider and popcorn while children of all ages complete a craft. There will be a story time at 2 and 3 p.m. Admission is free.
Located on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library at 444 Mahoning Ave., the museum is decorated for the fall.
Artifacts on exhibit through December include the “Timeless Stories” American Girl historical doll collection and “Musicians and Scholars: The Dana Family of Warren, Ohio.”
The Sutliff Museum, operated by The Warren Library Association, is fully handicapped accessible. It is open from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
Tours can be arranged at other times by calling the museum at 330-399-8807, ext. 121.
The museum is a memorial to Levi and Phebe Sutliff, who were operators on the Underground Railroad in Trumbull County.
It is presented as a parlor and was created with furniture, paintings and possessions from the Sutliff family home, which was built in Warren in 1850 and located on High Street.
The family home was maintained in authentic Victorian style until the death of Phebe Temperance Sutliff in 1955.
