YSU grad to receive prestigious military award

John M. MacIntosh Jr., a Youngstown State University graduate, ROTC officer and Vietnam veteran, will receive the 2017 Cincinnatus Award at the annual Veterans and ROTC Alumni Reunion on Friday and Saturday on campus.

The weekend of events starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday with a reunion dinner and program at the Ohio Room in Kilcawley Center. Cost is $40 per person for the dinner, program and cash bar, and $20 for students.

MacIntosh, a 1965 YSU graduate, will receive the Cincinnatus Award, presented annually to a local veteran who is connected to the university and has contributed to the community in a significant manner.

The reunion continues at 10 a.m. Saturday with a tailgate brunch at the Veterans Resource Center on campus at $15 per person, followed at noon by the Military Appreciation football game with YSU vs. Missouri State in Stambaugh Stadium.

All military members can receive six free tickets for the game by showing military/veteran ID at the stadium ticket office. For information, visit ysu.edu/alumni/Vet-ROTC.
