The Youngstown Symphony Society will host Nouveau Beaujolais at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Overture Restaurant at DeYor Performing Arts Center. Cost is $75 per person, and proceeds benefit the society’s educational outreach programs. The cost includes tasting of the Nouveau Beaujolais wines, dinner featuring specials from Easy Street’s Todd Hancock, Maureen Collins and James McClellan with special appearances by Rick Blackson and Mary Jo Maluso, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Reservations may be made by calling the symphony box office at 330-744-0264. A cash bar also will be available.

Noveau Beaujolais, observed worldwide, is the French celebration of the harvest similar to America’s Thanksgiving tradition. Occurring the third Thursday in November each year, the observance is accompanied by foods and revelry spotlighting the red wine produced in the Beaujolais region.

The Easy Street Singers, accompanied by the Little Big Band, will perform such French-themed songs as “La Vie En Rose,” “April in Paris” and “The Last Time I Saw Paris” as well as songs from Broadway musicals such as “Gigi,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Phantom of the Opera” and “Les Miserables.”
