The Ohio Parole Board again denied release of two men convicted of a highly publicized rape and murder in 1979.
David Jacobs and Charles Teague, both 56, were convicted in November 1979 of killing Youngstown State University student Elaine Poullas, who was 20 at the time.
Police found Poullas shot to death in a car in Mill Creek Park on June 3, 1979, according to Vindicator files. She also had been raped.
Jacobs and Teague committed the crimes as 17-year-olds but received life sentences after being tried as adults.
Both men were convicted on charges of kidnapping, aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and rape. Teague also was convicted of assault.
The parole board made the decision Oct. 24 and continued the matter until September 2022, when the duo will again be up for parole.
Both men previously had been denied parole.
