CRAFT SHOWS

Mahoning Valley Historical Society is hosting the second annual Christmas Marketplace from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St. in downtown Youngstown. The Historical Society is seeking vendors for this show, which will be a combination of handmade artisan crafts and holiday treats. Holiday crafters, cookie bakers and candy makers are encouraged to participate. Table spaces can be reserved for $30. DANCES

Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., is offering community dance lessons at 4 p.m. Wednesdays. Each lesson is one hour, and the cost is $5 per lesson. FUNDRAISERS

Campbell Memorial Marching Band will host a fundraiser by inviting the community on a bus trip to the “Big Apple” to explore its scenery. Cost is $99 per person. The bus will depart from Campbell Memorial High School at 11 p.m. Dec. 8 and return around 7 a.m. Dec. 10. All seats are on a first-come, first-served basis, and payment is due when reservations are made. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All proceeds benefit the Campbell Band Program. President Charity Foundation of the K. of C. is sponsoring a wine tasting and dinner Saturday at St. Anne’s Parish, 4310 Kirk Road, Youngstown. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. There will be a basket raffle, a DJ and dancing. This event will benefit Maureen Johnson, a young mother who has been diagnosed with Stage IV cancer. Shots for Tots will present the 170 bikes that were purchased for the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots organization Saturday. The bikes will be presented to the U.S. Marines at Masters Bar and Grill, 1675 Trumbull Ave., Girard. There will be a 50-50 raffle and Jell-O shots. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., and a DJ will follow from 7 to 11 p.m.

Sit Means Sit, 1330 Seaborn St. Suite 6, Mineral Ridge, will host a fundraiser involving Presents for Paws, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 2. The Allan Scott Band will be featured. F&FM brings together those from local rehab facilities, churches and halfway houses, in addition to the family members of those who struggle, for a night of encouragement. The 2017 Zero Weight Gain Challenge is an online challenge designed to help participants get fit by encouraging regular exercise, nutrition and wellness tips during the upcoming holiday season. Sutliff Museum, 444 Mahoning Ave., Warren, has opened a new exhibit that will be open to the public through January 2018. The exhibit is “Musicians and Scholars: the Dana Family of Warren, Ohio.” It explores the origin of the Dana family, through the relationship of Dana to the Sutliff family through Mrs. Phebe Lord Martin Sutliff.
