Valley locals in D.C. to lobby against cuts to addiction treatment programs

Several people from the Mahoning Valley are among dozens of people from across the country who are lobbying members of Congress today to maintain funding that helps provide addiction treatment.

“We’re here to make sure that they do not give the tax cuts to the wealthy by funding that with huge cuts to Medicaid, Medicare and other essential programs that directly affect the opioid crisis,” said Hope Lovrinoff Moran, Mahoning County coordinator for Ohio Change Addiction Now, referring to proposed tax legislation.

People from the Mahoning Valley will meet with staff members for U.S. Sens. Rob Portman and Sherrod Brown.
