Small Business Saturday is set for Nov. 25, and the community is encouraged to patronize small local business that day.
The first Small Business Saturday launched by American Express took place Nov. 27, 2010. The event encourages people across the country to support small, local businesses.
YBI plans seminar

The Youngstown Business Incubator will have a “Business Model Basics” seminar from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the incubator offices, 241 W. Federal St. downtown.

Chamber schedules ‘Lattes & Legislators’

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Government Affairs Council will have a “Lattes & Legislators” event with state Rep. Michele Lepore-Hagan of Youngstown, D-58th, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Nov. 20 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.
Lepore-Hagan will provide updates to business leaders about developments in Colum bus throughout the remainder of summer and fall.

‘Man vs. Machine’ panel discussion
CLEVELAND
The City Club of Cleveland will have a panel discussion on “Man vs. Machine: The Future of Manufacturing in Ohio” at noon Friday.
The White House released a report last year that concluded an 83 percent chance automation will replace a job that pays $20 an hour.
As the rise of robots and automated machinery continues, manufacturing will become more productive, with less human workers.
Educators in Northeast Ohio, however, are fighting to prioritize manufacturing jobs, which is still the largest sector of Ohio’s economy.
Panelists include Alicia Booker, vice president, Cuyahoga Community College; Scott N. Paul, president, Alliance for American Manufacturing; and Michael D. Siegal, chairman and CEO, Olympic Steel Inc.

Pizza Joe’s to help police raise funds
NEW CASTLE, PA.
Pizza Joe’s will help local law enforcement through its Shop with a Cop and Stuff the Cruiser programs.
Pizza Joe’s locations in Mahoning and Trumbull counties in Ohio, and Lawrence, Mercer, Crawford, Beaver, and Butler counties in Pennsylvania will host two give-back days to help raise more money for each county’s program.
On Monday, and Nov. 20, a portion of every Pizza Joe’s customer’s purchase will go directly to the respective county Shop with a Cop or Stuff the Cruiser programs.
