Promoted to sergeant
Daniel J. Dubelko, a state trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, was promoted to the rank of sergeant last week by Col. Paul A. Pride, Patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the Patrol’s Training Academy.
Dubelko will transfer from his current assignment at the Warren Post to serve as an assistant post commander at the Chardon Post.
Dubelko began his patrol career in March 2006 as a member of the 146th Academy Class. He earned his commission in October of that year and was assigned to the Norwalk Post.
As a trooper, he also served at the Canfield, Warren and Ashtabula posts. In 2010, he was selected as post and district Trooper of the Year. He also earned the Criminal Patrol Award three times.
Dubelko earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology from Youngstown State University in 2004.
