Church to host grief workshop Nov. 19

Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 Broad St, will offer a one-time workshop from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. next Sunday for anyone struggling with grief this holiday season. The workshop is titled “Getting through the holiday after facing loss.” Donations for lunch are appreciated. Reservations are requested by Monday by calling the church office at 330-533-9801. The community is welcome.
Christmas committee planning parade

The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The theme this year is “The Joy of Christmas Fills the Hearts.”
Plaques will be awarded for best float, best car, best of theme, best marching/walking unit, best old firetruck, best new firetruck, best of parade and the Clark W. Holiday exhibit to open at Arms Museum

“Memories of Christmas Past” opens Saturday and runs through Jan. 7 at the Arms Family Museum, 648 Wick Ave., Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday; and noon to 7 p.m. Thursdays. The museum is closed Mondays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Admission for the exhibit is $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens 65 and older and college students, and $5 for children age 3 to 18 (under 3 are free).

Sparkle Youngstown planned for Dec. 1

The City of Youngstown, Youngstown CityScape and Home Savings & Loan will host this year’s Youngstown Holiday Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5 p.m. Dec. 1 on Central Square and 20 Federal Place. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. with the tree lighting to follow. Pictures also may be taken with Santa.
