CLUBS

Monday Night Writers will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 20 in the small meeting room at the Canfield Branch of the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County, 43 W. Main St. Area writers, both published and unpublished, are invited to attend. Led by professional writer Nancy Christie, author of “Traveling Left Of Center And Other Stories,” the two-hour sessions offer an opportunity for members to get group feedback on works-in-progress. Warren Women's Connection, an affiliate of Stonecroft Ministries, invites all women to attend a luncheon titled, “Our Annual Country Fair,” that will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Delucia’s Banquet Center, 2610 Elm Eoad NE, Warren. Youngstown Council of Catholic Nurses will meet at noon Wednesday at The Manor, 3104 S. Canfield-Niles Road. Program includes election of officers and a basket auction.

Youngstown Section of the National Council of Negro Women Inc., will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at the McGuffey Centre, 1649 Jacobs Road. Executive board meets at noon and the general meeting is at 1 p.m.

LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of the Boardman Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the community room. Refreshments will be served, and the program “Power of Words and the Holocaust” will be presented by Jessie McClain. Hostesses will be Joan Ruffing, Shirley Shafer and Beverly Wagner. Guests are welcome. Members and guests are asked to donate books, magazines, CDs and DVDs. Proceeds support the summer reading programs. Donated items are collected from 9 a.m. to noon the first and third Saturday of each month.

William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Nov. 18 at Kravitz’s Deli meeting room, 3135 Belmont Ave. Memories of a Lifetime with Tricia Perry, WKBN television personality, will speak about her career in local broadcasting, the influence of the Williamson family, founders of WKBN, and Vision of the Valley productions.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Codependency and Grief Support Group will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the care center of the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home, North Main St., Hubbard. The support group was formed to reach out to help families who have lost loved ones to alcohol or substance abuse.

Diabetes Partnership of the Mahoning Valley will have its final 2017 meeting at Stonebridge Grille and Tavern, 1497 Boardman-Canfield Road, at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Discussion will cover the end-of-summer events, the golf outing, the fair and the events taking place in November and December.

Youngstown Area PFLAG will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown. Youngstown Area PFLAG (Parents, Families, Friends, and Allies) is a support, education and advocacy group United with LGBT People to move equality forward. Support meetings are the second Tuesday of each month. PFLAG provides the opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity and strives to create a society respectful of human diversity. Meetings are free and confidential.
