ELECTION UPDATE | Kitchen has commanding lead in early voting for Youngstown council president

YOUNGSTOWN — Democrat DeMaine Kitchen has an overwhelming lead in early voting for the Youngstown council president post. Totals after the polls closed at 7:30 p.m. show Kitchen garnering 2,386 of the 2,527 early votes cast.

Council president oversees council meetings, breaks tie votes, and serves as mayor in the event the mayor is no longer able to serve.
