City PD mourns Jocko the police dog

YOUNGSTOWN — City police today are mourning the death of former police dog Jocko, who died Monday at the age of 12.

Jocko was appointed a police dog in 2007 and served until his retirement in June of 2013.

A department spokeswoman said Jocko had to be put down because of an illness.

His handler was former officer Ron Jankowski, who has been retired for several years.
