Chamber hosts industry roundtable

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a Customer Service/Call Center Industry Roundtable from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday at First National Bank Building, 17th Floor Conference, 11 Central Square.

The chamber is looking to learn how to better serve the industry in government affairs, business retention and expansion and education and workforce development.

YBI plans classes on social marketing

The Youngstown Business Incubator will have classes on Social Marketing Basics starting Thursday. The class runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Social Marketing Basics is the first of three classes, designed to give a beginners’ look at what to do to maximize marketing efforts.

Social Marketing Basics is designed to be an overview of the social media platforms, provide some steps on how to best use them and how to develop an effective starter marketing plan.

This class is designed for those who are either just starting their business or those who currently do minimal to zero marketing for their business.

‘Laws of Leadership’

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have “Laws of Leadership: 15 Laws of Personal Growth” event from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. Nov. 15 at Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave.

The 2017 Laws of Leadership series, the “15 Laws of Personal Growth,” is based on John Maxwell’s book “The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth,” features business leaders throughout the Mahoning Valley sharing their personal leadership experiences that relate to one of Maxwell’s 15 laws.

Speakers at this month’s program are Ed Haller, Warren’s water pollution control director; Krish Mohip, CEO, Youngstown City Schools; Michael B. Ross, president/founder, Mainstream Leadership Network; and Greg Smith, Greg Smith Leadership.

Progressive expands

CLEVELAND

Jobs Ohio and Team NEO recently announced Progressive Insurance, the nation’s fourth-largest auto insurer and a leading seller of other insurance products, will be expanding in Northeast Ohio.

The expansion will bring 900 new jobs to the state and retain nearly 10,000 positions.

Progressive, located in a Cleveland suburb, has called Northeast Ohio home for 80 years.
