The Mahoning Valley Accounting Society will present a tax-education seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St. The event will provide a complete coverage of all the latest IRS rulings and procedures dealing with real-estate investments. Harbor Woods open

NILES

Harbor Woods Living at Niles, 1801 Phoenix Place, a 55 and older active-adult community, is open and leasing. The community has one- and two-bedroom apartments, single-floor living with spacious open-floor plans, beauty and barber salons, a fitness center, garages and storage units.

At 11 a.m. Nov. 8, the facility will have its ribbon cutting.

The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a red-ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday at the newly opened office of Frank B. Wanat, DDS, 225 E. State Route 14, Suite 205.

Dr. Wanat focuses on providing skilled dentistry, comprehensive care, patient education, on-time appointments and advanced technology. The office accepts most forms of insurance. Secretary of State Jon Husted announced November as Veteran-Owned Businesses Month. Throughout the month, the Ohio Business Profile program will highlight businesses throughout the state that are owned by veterans. Ohio is home to more than 750,000 military veterans and more than 90,000 veteran-owned businesses.
