Q. When did you start playing your instrument and how many years have you been in the marching band?

A. Stanley: I started playing trumpet in fifth grade. I’ve been in marching band since freshman year.

McConnell: In fifth grade, and fourth year in marching band.

Donnachie: Fifth grade trumpet, four years marching

Kluchar: I started playing in percussion my fifth-grade year. I have been in marching band for two years.

Q. What is your best memory of being in marching band?

A. Stanley: My favorite memory of marching band is the stomp-down of Bohemian Rhapsody at Massillon Band Night during my junior year.

McConnell: Orlando.

Donnachie: Bohemian Rhapsody junior year

Kluchar: Going to Steak and Shake with my squad and coming in late to band camp with milk shakes in hand.

Q. Why is music important to you?

A. Stanley: Music is important to me because it allows me to express myself.

McConnell: So I don’t have to take gym.

Donnachie: A way to connect regardless of language, all can communicate with music.

Kluchar: It’s a form of expression to me that has the sole purpose of being graceful and everyone can understand it no matter where you’re from or what language you speak.

Q. Do you have any advice for underclassmen?

A. Stanley: Always work your hardest and don’t be in a hurry to graduate.

McConnell: Learn how to walk in the halls.

Donnachie: Be open to experiences and allow yourself to be happy.

Kluchar: Remember, don’t stress the little mistakes because in the large scheme of things, no one will notice them.
