Motorists asked to steer clear of Himrod Avenue on East Side

YOUNGSTOWN — A portion of Himrod Avenue is closed after it collapsed this morning near the intersection of Hine Street.

The ground below the road deteriorated because of a leak from a sewer line causing a large hole, city officials said.

The road is closed indefinitely until the city can fix the problem.
