The Friends of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County hosted its first craft show at the Canfield library on Sept. 30.
Ten vendors displayed a variety of handmade items, including jewelry, stained glass, wood puzzles and Halloween and Christmas crafts.
“All the money raised from this show will go toward programs at all the libraries, but most importantly, it will help children’s programs at the libraries. The vendors are here today because they want to help support the library,” said Library Development Director Debbie Liptak.
Friends of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County member and craft show vendor Becky Showman helped organize the show.
“Debbie had the idea of a craft show and I said I could help with getting vendors to come in, and here we are today,” Showman said.
Liptak said the Friends of the Library hope to expand the craft show in the future.
“This is the first craft show the Friends of the Library has held. We are hoping to grow it in the future,” Liptak said.
Tradewinds Catering provided lunch for all the vendors.
