The Canfield Presbyterian Church hosted a Trunk or Treat, which included Biblical carnival games, dinner and trick-or-treating from car to car in the church parking lot, on Oct. 25. The event was free and open to the public.

“Our Trunk or Treat is an annual event and it is open to the entire community. We have many activities planned for this evening, including carnival games and balloon art. We invited our congregation to decorate the trunks of their cars and pass out candy to the children. We have several community events throughout the year and everyone is welcome to attend all of them. Our doors are always open. Our next event will be the Joy of Christmas event on Dec. 13,” said Jason Campbell, Canfield Presbyterian Church children’s ministry leader.

Participants in the Trunk or Treat decorated their trunks, and the trunks were judged by Campbell, Shelly Israel and Brain Perrett. A trophy was awarded to the best Christian-themed trunk.

With approximately 63 children and 17 trunks, Campbell was pleased with the turn out and liked seeing the families enjoy themselves.

“Our congregation was so creative in decorating their trunks. They have put a lot of thought and effort into tonight. And the children are having a great time gathering candy and checking out the trunks. It is so nice for us to be able to see these families doing something fun together,” Campbell said.
