AUSTINTOWN

Township police Thursday revealed the identity of the man who is the suspect in a shooting at the Walmart store on Mahoning Avenue earlier this week.

U.S. Marshals are searching for Terrance Craig, 26, of Campbell, who is charged with felonious assault after a man was shot while sitting in a parked car at the big-box store. A warrant has been issued for Craig’s arrest.

The unidentified victim was shot in the chest shortly before 8 a.m. Monday and was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Police Chief Bob Gavalier told The Vindicator on Monday the victim is from the Columbus area. He was last reported in stable condition, and he is expected to survive the shooting.

Gavalier added the shooter targeted the victim at that location.

The victim’s vehicle was towed by township police. A motive behind the shooting has not been established. Police are studying surveillance footage acquired from Walmart.
