Good Turn Day commences Saturday

Goodwill and the Girl Scouts are teaming up for the Good Turn Day donation drive that will take place Saturday. Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries’ donation centers in Austintown, Boardman, Calcutta, Liberty, Salem and Warren will be participating in the event along with Girl Scouts in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

To register, a parent or troop leader must contact Goodwill’s marketing office at 330-759-7921, ext. 1207, with the troop number, donation center location and number of girls participating, or email the information to e.parker@goodwillyoungstown.org. Any outside of those counties, contact your local Goodwill for information. Boy scouts are also welcome to participate in this opportunity to earn a patch and give back to the community.

The processing of the donations helps to provide job training and employment, while the sale of the donated items provide funding for programs and services for individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment in the community.
