NextHome opening

POLAND

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for NextHome Go30 Realty, 8433 South Ave., Suite No. 4, at 2 p.m. today.

Chad Cromer and Robert “Dan” Dull announce their new affiliation with the NextHome franchise and will open the third such location in Ohio.

NextHome is a fast-growing progressive real-estate franchise with a consumer-centric focus, according to a news release.

Ribbon-cutting

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Grace Woods Senior Living, 730 Youngstown-Warren Road, at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Gracewoods Senior Living Center of Niles is a 78-unit community that is unique in design. The center offers privacy and assistance, as well as a combination of private and common areas that include dining rooms, living rooms and social areas.

Dividend declared

CORTLAND

Cortland Bancorp, the holding company for Cortland Savings and Banking Co., on Tuesday reported net income of $2.1 million for the third quarter of 2017, compared with $1.2 million for the third quarter of 2016. For the nine months that ended Sept. 30, net income was $4.3 million, compared with $3.7 million for the nine months of 2016.

Cortland’s board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.08 per share. The dividend will be payable Dec. 1 to shareholders of record at the close of business Nov. 13.

Exxon settles pollution case by upgrading 8 plants

DALLAS

Exxon Mobil settled violations of the clean-air law with the Trump administration by agreeing to pay a $2.5 million civil penalty and spend $300 million on pollution-control technology at plants along the Gulf Coast.

Federal officials said Tuesday that the settlement will prevent thousands of tons of future pollution, including cancer-causing benzene, from eight petrochemical plants in Texas and Louisiana.
