38 special coming to Stambaugh
Staff report
Rock band 38 Special will bring its Southern sound to Stambaugh Auditorium on March 15 at 7:30 p.m.
The band is best known for its hits “Hold On Loosely,” “Rockin’ Into the Night,” “Caught Up in You,” “Fantasy Girl,” “If I’d Been the One,” “Back Where You Belong,” “Chain Lightnin’,” “Second Chance” and more.
Tickets will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at the Florence and Ward Beecher Box Office at Stambaugh Auditorium.
Guitarist, vocalist and founding member Don Barnes says it’s all about maintaining that intensity in their live shows. “We never wanted to be one of those bands that had maybe gotten a little soft or complacent over the years. We’re a team, and it’s always been kind of an unspoken rule that we don’t slack up, we stack up. We go out there every night to win.”
Aside from Barnes, the current lineup includes; guitarist/vocalist, Danny Chauncey; bassist, Barry Dunaway; drummer, Gary Moffatt; and keyboardist/vocalist, Bobby Capps.
For tickets, call 330-259-0555, go to stambaughauditorium.com, or visit the Florence and Ward Beecher Box Office at Stambaugh Auditorium. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
