Dettelbach to seek Ohio AG post


CLEVELAND — Steve Dettelbach, former United States attorney for the northern district of Ohio announced his run for Ohio Attorney General today.

Dettelbach is originally from Cleveland and will run as a Democrat.

In a statement the candidate released on Tuesday, Dettelbach cited his qualifications which included more than 20 years of experience prosecuting cases involving issues like human trafficking, drug cartels, terrorism, corruption and opioids.

Dettelbach said he will focus on holding state powers accountable and on working with law enforcement personnel to address statewide issues including the opioid epidemic.
